Melodie Bahan, Executive Director

Melodie Bahan was appointed Executive Director of MN Film & TV in June 2017. With nearly three decades of nonprofit management, combined with public affairs and fundraising experience, Ms. Bahan is a consummate leader with the background and skills to lead the organization effectively.
Melodie previously served as the first Vice President of Communications for Artspace, the nation’s leading developer of affordable space for artists. She created the new position and department designed to develop and implement an integrated strategic communications plan to advance Artspace’s brand identity; broaden awareness of its projects and priorities; and increase the visibility of its projects across key stakeholder and funding audiences. Melodie has also served as leader of community engagement activities in numerous cities throughout U.S., developing relationships with artists, funders, government officials, and community stakeholders.
Previously, she served as the Director of Communications for the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis, overseeing all media relations, publications and online content. During her 10 years at the Guthrie, she supervised press relations for all aspects of the Theater, including the work on the stage as well as the construction and opening of the new Jean Nouvel-designed Guthrie on the banks of the Mississippi River.
Prior to joining the Guthrie, Melodie spent 10 years in New York, where she served as the president of the New York chapter of the National Organization for Women. She worked in community relations for New York City Comptroller Elizabeth Holtzman as well as on several political campaigns.
Melodie has worked as a freelance journalist and a columnist in the Twin Cities. She has served on the Minnesota News Council and the advisory board of Pillsbury House Theatre, and is currently on the board of the Film Society of Minneapolis/St. Paul. She attended MacMurray College in Jacksonville, Illinois as a theater major and obtained a B.A. in journalism from the University of Minnesota.
Jill Johansen, Incentives Specialist

Jill Johansen has worked in the production industry for eighteen years on everything from public television to national cable series. She now finds her organizational strengths and radical attention to detail most useful in managing the Snowbate Production Incentive Program and the Minnesota Filmmakers Legacy Reimbursement programs.
Jade Orth, Business Manager
Jade's love of production and travel took him to Buenos Aires where he worked with production companies on widening their distribution network and help market Argentina's unique locations. Jade also worked as a buyer for Whole Foods for 3 years. He is seriously one of the nicest and most enthusiastic folks you could ever meet and we're really lucky to have him!
Troy Parkinson, Director of Production

After he got his BA in film production from Emerson College in Boston, Troy's logged over 15 years of production experience as writer, producer & director. He produced projects for companies like Microsoft and TV networks including the History Channel and for 6 years he served on the board of the historic Fargo Theater and 3 years as co-chair for The Fargo Film Festival. Shoot him an email or call and introduce yourself. He is not only ready and able to take on your every MN industry question, he's a super nice guy every step of the way.
Lu Lippold, Marketing and Development Manager
Lu has worked as a documentary filmmaker, producer, writer/editor, journalism professor, film festival programmer, and grant administrator. Her creative work ranges from in-depth examination of social justice issues to semi-hilarious food reviews. Previous careers include teaching English in Japan and Greece, computer systems analysis, and degrees in Classics, Linguistics, and Journalism. In addition to her work at MNFilmTV, she currently teaches documentary film at St. Thomas University and is a consultant with Twelve Plus Media in Saint Paul.
