FilmNorth offers nearly 100 courses each year in the art, business, and technology of media making. FilmNorth’s annual Midwest Filmmaker Conference and Master Classes connect media artists to industry leaders and innovators from around the country.

Screenwriters' Workshop

Screenwriters’ Workshop is an all-volunteer, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides aspiring and practicing Minnesota screenwriters a setting for interaction and exchange of information. Since 1987 Screenwriters’ Workshop has promoted the development of Minnesota screenwriters by providing a forum for writers, producers, directors, playwrights, and allied partners in filmmaking to develop their projects while expressing their commitment to improving the quality of movie storytelling.

St. Paul Neighborhood Network

We empower individuals and organizations to tell their stories by teaching basic and advanced media production skills and offering access to our wide-reaching cable channels. Participants learn to tell their stories of self and community in an engaging and thoughtful way. We offer a variety of programs, including:

  • Monthly classes on basic production skills and one on one skill development.
  • Special Workshops on advance technical skills and soft skills to ensure you are ready to enter the maker economy.
  • Custom training for staff and volunteers of non-profits to give the skills needed to communicate effectively with clients and donors.
  • In-depth project-based learning programs such as DocU and Making Media, Making Change
