The Best Buy Teen Tech Center is a safe, interactive space for teens to explore the latest technology and multimedia tools with support from peers and adult mentors. 

Teens can challenge themselves in several different areas of technology including:

  • Scratch visual programming

Film North

FilmNorth’s Youth Media Programs work with youth from the Twin Cities area, both in and out of schools. The mission is to teach filmmaking as a means of engaging kids in their education—developing artistic, critical thinking, and career skills while examining issues in their own environments.

At MIGIZI, we partner with American Indian young people to help them discover and strengthen their skills. MSP Film Society

Nextwave is the Film Society of Minneapolis St. Paul’s exciting youth engagement and education initiative within the annual Minneapolis St. Paul International Film Festival (MSPIFF).

Nextwave provides the premier regional film exhibition destination for youth pursuing an interest or career in filmmaking. It is a celebration of the up-and-coming generation of cinematic story-tellers, an opportunity for their stories to been seen and explored by an audience of 50,000 Festival-goers and local and visiting film industry professionals, and a place where young filmmakers can connect with one-another and with mentors and advisors in the field.

The Film Society of Minneapolis St. Paul is Minnesota’s leading exhibitor of international independent cinema. Our mission is to foster a knowledgeable and vibrant appreciation of the art of film and its power to inform and transform individuals and communities.

SPNN Youth provides young people with the opportunity to create community media with a lasting impact. Through our fun and engaging programs, youth develop skills in media production, critical thinking, and community awareness.

As an alternative to mainstream media, we work to increase youth media visibility on our channels, on the web, and in the community.
