The Film Program at Augsburg University reflects our belief that students are transformed through a well-rounded curriculum encouraging creativity, critical analysis and inquiry, ethical considerations, and an understanding of the synergy between theory and practice. Those seeking a bachelor's degree in Film will choose a concentration in either Production or Theory and Culture. We also offer a Film minor. The major explores the tension between art and commerce through dialogues with film industry members, internship and mentorship opportunities, film symposia, and of course curriculum that allows you to be the auteur of moving pictures.
Augsburg University has had a strong academic reputation defined by excellence in the liberal arts and professional studies since 1869. A welcoming and inclusive campus in the heart of Minneapolis, we offer more than 50 majors and nine graduate degrees to nearly 3,500 diverse students. With an average class size of 17, we are committed to teaching through hands-on experience via research, internships, study abroad, service, and more, and support our students in finding meaningful work after graduation.
