Script Writers: Feature Film

Grant Anderson

View Full Profile >

My love for writing began as a kid, when I wrote funny skits and filmed them with my older brother. I continued to develop my craft, frequently writing papers in high school even when they were not assigned. I realized that I especially loved writing comedy and developed an appreciation for Robin Williams and John Hughes. I understood that studying the best made me better, so that’s what I did. My senior speech was voted the best in my high school class, along with a classmate who delivered his on the same day. Eager to continue to grow my skills as a writer, I attended and graduated from Northwestern University’s School of Communication in Evanston, Illinois in 2009.

Since graduating, I have expanded my writing skills to other mediums as well. In 2010, I met "Sports Illustrated" cover star and Heisman Trophy finalist, Darnell Autry, and together, we have collaborated on various TV show pitches and a radio show. I provided script coverage of screenplays, TV pilots, novels and comic books for the Intellectual Property Group, a literary management company in L.A. I would soon earn my first award nomination as a screenwriter for my work on the short film, “The Year of the Ox”, a sci-fi thriller. I recently finished my latest screenplay, a feature length comedy script, which is now in pre-production with a production company out west.

I also have performed stand-up in Minneapolis at Acme Comedy Company, Comedy Corner Underground, and Bunny's Northeast, and have been interviewed for my screenwriting work on Fox 9 News in the Twin Cities.
