Martha Sandberg Wardrobe Stylist

View Full Profile >

I am a wardrobe stylist who believes that collaboration is key. I appreciate the fact that creative input comes from many people. I take all of that vision; blend it together and create a costume. You can be certain that talent will arrive on set not only looking good, but also feeling confident and ready to go. I have a knack for working with green talent and convincing them that they’re going to do great as they take that last nervous look in the mirror before going to set.

While the majority of spots that I work on are real people in real-life situations, I do enjoy a challenge. I love vintage, retro spots (who doesn’t?). I will make sure that children look real; older people, warm and charming; nerds, awkwardly adorable.

I will be professional. Unless it’s Kid Cudi, Ryan Gosling or Richard Sherman. “Famous” athletes and actors are just like you and me, only with a few more championship rings.

I’m a natural peacekeeper, a negotiator, and a team player—not a Diva. As a proud Minnesotan, I have enjoyed working with costume designers that want a local, experienced stylist. That said, I am not a wardrobe PA.

What’s my rate? Let’s talk about your budget and make it work for both of us.

Disclaimer: I don’t “build” elaborate prop costumes. I leave that to the construction experts and work closely with them.

I look forward to the opportunity to work with you.

I have experience working throughout Europe with various types of productions including films, television, commercials and music videos. My work covers large ans small scale productions. While my experience includes award winning projects, as well as Italian and European premières, I have a can-do attitude and approach all projects as a highly trained professional artist.

My background both in the arts as well as costume designer includes work in high-pressure environments, communicating across design and technical teams, both with endless fine details to coordinate. I have the skills to manage challenging situations and moreover always ensured that projects met professional standards as well as the vision of the Director and other designers.  These experiences have taught me the importance of teamwork and good communication and I like the challenges and success which come with any production.

I lived for the last couple of years in Minneapolis, MN where I have been successfully designed costumes for several theatre productions. Last year I moved to Rochester, MN, where I am as resident costume designer at the Rochester Civic Theatre.

Furthermore I have knowledge of 3D (Maya 2018, Marvelous Designer, CLO-3D, Daz-3D, Poser) and able to create costumes for video games and 3D films.
