Believe You Can Sing!

View Full Profile >

"Connecting the Heart to the Science of Voice."

I help singers and speakers develop powerful, authentic voices.

You can learn to sing & speak with more ease, volume, pitch control & breath support for a healthier voice using exercises that promote a more comfortable way to develop good posture.

EXPERIENCE:
*  22 years teaching experience
*  12 years living & working in Los Angeles
*  A lifetime of performing experience
*  Apprentice trained: I received 12 years personal private vocal studies with master teachers of bel canto & contemporary    singing techniques.

I am forever grateful to all of my teachers, past and present, for their valuable gifts of knowledge, skill, grace and compassion.

Please take a deep inhale by expanding and opening your rib cage, relaxing your jaw and then exhale sounding 'aaahhh'. Have FUN with it so that you can hear and feel the difference sooner.

My mission is to assist you in finding an easier way to sustain your best posture, breath support, resonance and pitch control by bringing awareness to existing vocal habits and giving you hands-on experience with adjusting those habits.

Hi! My name is Arlys. I am a Voice Teacher | Performance Coach who grew up singing freely and naturally until I destroyed my voice thru improper, frequent overuse. I believed my career was over, but it was just starting. Private lessons with vocal professionals coupled with academic studies rebuilt my perception of how I was generating sound and their training gave me back MY VOICE, for which I am forever grateful. I can help you reach your goals.

My cross-training in dance, yoga, Tai Chi, commercial & improvisational acting provides a well-rounded platform from which to deliver information, guide vocal explorers and also help develop talent. I help you understand why you're doing the exercise, how it will benefit your voice and become more aware or conscious of physical habits that are affecting your voice so that you can redirect them. Together, we find your most relaxed & elongated posture, breath support, resonance and pitch control, without losing our minds :-). Oh yeah, a ton of humor must be applied or it won't be fun, and doesn't everyone learn more when we're having fun? (Just nod, and agree, it's okay to enjoy life.)

There are no long-term contracts, you can take a lesson at a time or sign up for a guaranteed weekly time.

Please, if you've been waiting to take voice lessons give this a try.

Brief Resume: over 20 years of private voice teaching; 12 years living & working in Los Angeles; 12 years of personal vocal studies with master teachers of bel canto & contemporary singing techniques. I am forever grateful to all of my teachers past and present, for their valuable gifts of knowledge, skill, grace and compassion.

Available: Eden Prairie in-person lessons & online [Zoom, Skype, FaceTime]

Proud partner with Kramer Music School, Take Lessons & School of Rock The most fulfilling thing about my job is hearing the difference in my student's voices and how that has affected their daily life, as well as celebrating their successe.
